Elemental Photoshop Elements
The Photoshop Elements Workshop is for people who want to move beyond the basics of post-processing and explore the myriad of creative possibilities that are available to today’s digital photographers. While the full version of Photoshop is the preferred program for professionals, it can be mind-numbingly full featured and is very expensive. Thus, Elements is often the best solution for photographers who don’t want or need to invest the time or money into Photoshop but want to create more exotic images.
Even though it is Photoshop’s baby brother, Elements is still a very robust program in its own right. We are going to be focusing on the portions of the program that you’ll use everyday and won’t overwhelm you by covering the full feature set. We are going to be working on the photo editing, not graphics creation aspects of the program. There will be a heavy emphasis on layers and how to use them, as well as the concept of shooting for post production to create better and totally different images.
This is an entry-level workshop and is suitable for anyone who wants to start realizing the potential of Photoshop Elements (or Photoshop – if you have it). The basic principles that will be taught in this course form the necessary knowledge base for our more advanced post-processing courses.
What you will need for the workshop:
Although having your own laptop loaded with Photoshop Elements isn’t absolutely essential, it is a very good idea. The course will be very visual and being able to follow along in real-time on your own computer will be a huge benefit.
We will be working with Photoshop Elements 12. If you don’t own the program or have an earlier version, you can download a free 30 day trial from Adobe.
Skill Level: Beginner with basic computer knowledge.
$95.00 PCP members
The workshop is three 2 hour sessions and is limited to 6 people to ensure individual attention and the Center reserves the right to cancel the workshop if fewer than 4 people sign up.
